Lorraine is a contemporary clock inspired by nature. It's designed as a desktop clock and meant to evoke the simplicity of materials. The rippling effect on the perimeter of the wood is a reflection of water being skimmed by the wind, as the form of the walnut contrasts this by taking the likeness of a monolithic monument.

In the heart of simplicity I designed this clock to utilize the negative space of the elongated shape; so that the body may work as a reference point to 12

The interior of the clock houses a Quartz time mechanism

The housing is designed to be milled out by a CNC

The texture takes inspiration from hand gouged surfaces, which can then be CNC milled around the perimeter as well
